A Trilha Cênica Nacional dos Apalaches se prolonga por mais de 3 mil quilômetros, de Maine até a Geórgia. Cerca de 950 quilômetros estão nas belas montanhas Apalache de Virgínia e Maryland. Pessoas de todas as idades e habilidades podem curtir pequenas caminhadas, escaladas de um dia e mochilões. A trilha oferece uma variedade de oportunidades para ver cenários espetaculares e vida selvagem, exploração, aventura, estudo da natureza e renovação.

O Skyline Drive, parte do Shenandoah National Park, se estende por 168 quilômetros ao longo da crista das Montanhas Blue Ridge até encontrar o Blue Ridge Parkway.
